As part of Aransas Bird Days – Wings of Spring, Aransas Pathways is proud to highlight this special partner-led experience at Goose Island State Park, in collaboration with Texas Parks and Wildlife. Join TPWD staff and local birding expert Ben Horstmann for a guided van tour through some of the park’s most celebrated birding hotspots. This curated experience offers a closer look at iconic locations such as the Big Tree Natural Area, scenic bayfront habitats, and active bird feeding stations—each stop designed to immerse participants in the rich coastal ecosystem. Guests can expect approximately 30 minutes at each location, allowing time for observation, photography, and learning in a relaxed, small-group setting. In partnership with a global initiative led by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, a limited-time giveaway is now open to nature lovers across the United States and Canada. Participants have the chance to win a pair of ZEISS Terra ED binoculars, a high-quality tool designed to enhance birdwatching experiences in both casual and field settings. This initiative encourages individuals of all experience levels to step outdoors, observe local birdlife, and engage in the broader movement of bird conservation and citizen science. This special event brings together outdoor recreation, wellness, nature appreciation, and coastal heritage in the heart of Aransas County. Whether you are paddling across the bay or gathering at Murph Park to enjoy the sunset atmosphere, this event celebrates the people, waterways, and outdoor experiences that make Aransas County unique. Experience Historic Copano Bay at Sunset Kayak at Sunset is part of the Pathways in Motion initiative of Aransas Pathways. The program promotes healthy outdoor recreation while showcasing the natural beauty, history, and tourism experiences of the Texas Coastal Bend. Participants will paddle approximately three miles across scenic Copano Bay during golden hour while enjoying breathtaking waterfront views and community fellowship.
