Aransas Bird Days of Spring 2026

April 18 - April 19

A Countywide Celebration of Migration in Aransas County, Texas

Be part of history as Aransas Pathways, in partnership with Goose Island State Park, launches the Inaugural Aransas Bird Days of Spring, April 18–19, 2026.

This first-ever countywide birding celebration honors the peak of spring migration along the Texas Gulf Coast, when thousands of migratory birds pass through Aransas County’s coastal habitats, wetlands, bays, and oak mottes.

Designed as an annual tradition in the making, Aransas Bird Days of Spring brings together birders, photographers, families, conservation partners, volunteers, and nature enthusiasts for a weekend of discovery, education, and stewardship.

Why Aransas County Is a Premier Spring Migration Destination

Located along the Central Flyway, Aransas County offers some of the most important coastal stopover habitats in Texas. During April, migratory songbirds, shorebirds, raptors, and wading birds move through the region, creating exceptional birdwatching opportunities.

Aransas Bird Days of Spring highlights:

  • Coastal birding hotspots
  • Migration science and conservation
  • Local ecotourism experiences
  • Community-based stewardship

This event supports conservation awareness, educational outreach, and sustainable tourism across the Coastal Bend.
